CHAPMAN NORTH DIRECTORS

BRIAN HEBEIN

CBA-North Director
17U Elite & 17U Gold Head Coach
Port Washington Varsity Head Coach

Brian Hebein first picked up a basketball on the playgrounds in Milwaukee, WI. From that time he knew he loved the game and would play endless hours on the playground with older kids to become a better player. However Brian would not play an organized league until he was in eighth grade. From then the love for the game grew and was unstoppable.

His family made a move to Port Washington where Brian was a four sport athlete for the Pirates. Although he competed in football, basketball, track, and baseball, basketball was his true love.  When he graduated from Port Washington High School he went off to Marian College and then to UW-Washington County. A knee injury would prevent him from competing at a high level but that was not going to stop his impact on the game.

Brian began his coaching career as a 19 year old college student at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Port Washington. He was the boys 7th grade coach for one season and then the 8th grade coach the following season. While he was at TJMS he also served as the girls 8th grade coach.

His next journey would take him to Port Washington High School. Brian spent his first four years as the head JV boys coach before accepting the position as the Varsity boys head coach, which he has held for the last 11 seasons. Brian has also been a boys and girls track and field coach for 5 seasons where he was responsible for the high jump, long jump, and triple jump events.
Brian has run multiple basketball camps as the head coach of Port Washington as well as hosting coaching clinics for the youth organization in Port Washington.

"Working with young athletes is a passion of mine, there is no better feeling than watching the development of a student-athlete. Not only on the court but, in the classroom, and eventually into their adult lives.

TYLER MUELLER

CBA-North Director
13U & 17U Puma Head Coach
CUW Men's Assistant Basketball Coach

Tyler Mueller is a lifelong resident of Port Washington, where he graduated high school in 2013. Tyler participated in multiple sports throughout high school and was introduced to coaching his senior year of high school. Through his Youth Service Learning class, Tyler was given the opportunity to assist his younger brother's 6th Grade Port Hoops team where he developed his passion for coaching.

After Graduation, Tyler went on to study Physical Education at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. While attending school at UW-Whitewater, Tyler continued his passion for coaching. Tyler spent his freshman year coaching a youth team in the Milton School District. At the age of 19 Tyler was given the opportunity to coach at the high school level, where he was the Head JV Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach at Palmyra-Eagle High School.

Following his sophomore year of college, Tyler moved back home to Port Washington and transferred to UW-Milwaukee where he studied Elementary Education and Communication. Tyler was given an opportunity to coach at his alma mater Port Washington High School and coach alongside his Varsity Basketball Coach Brian Hebein. Tyler spent 3 seasons at Port Washington prior to taking the Varsity Head Coach at Random Lake High School.
During Tyler’s time at Port Washington, he was able to meet Joe Chapman where he served as a 12U, 15U, and 16U Coach prior to starting the Chapman-North Basketball Academy division in 2019. As a first year program, Chapman-North Basketball Academy was faced with the COVID-19 Pandemic. Instead of waving the towel, Chapman Basketball Academy got creative by running Zoom workouts, and small group sessions at local parks. Chapman-North Basketball Academy started with 4 teams in 2019 and has grown to 13 teams in its boys division for the 2024 season.

Tyler currently serves as one of the directors of Chapman-North Basketball Academy where he oversees all the "North" teams, runs individual and small group training, directs the Chapman-North Basketball Camps/Tournaments/Leagues, and is the Head Coach for the 13U and 17U Puma teams. Tyler is also an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Concordia University where he assists with recruiting, scouting, and head coach of the reserve team. The 2024 season will be Tyler’s 8th season with Chapman Basketball Academy.
